Hip Hop Country Birthday Class for Angela Hart & Abbi Adams!

Look out because hip hop country is definitely becoming a THING! The hats, the belts, the baggy clothes, the jeans and the vests… so good!

Arguably the best dancer of the whole class was Angela’s husband, Chris, who picked up the moves super fast and danced from start (no Bad Blood in this room!) to finish (it’s a Pep Rally!).

Happiest birthdays to Angela and Abbi, who danced up front, brought Taylor Swift inspired bracelets to share, and gave out donuts to enjoy after class!

Hot Pink Birthdays for Gina Daly & Marsha Cellar!

On Thursday last week, Marsha greeted everyone that came into class with pink bandanas! It was so cute to see all the styles! The ponytail, the headband, the necktie, the head wrap, the armband… lots of creativity in the room!

Gina brought her mom, Christina, to dance and it was clear that Gina definitely “got it from her mama.” Christina even came up to dance up front for two songs (with our persuasion) and after class, Gina shared how she grew up going to Jazzercise with her mom since she was 3 or 4! Love it when families dance together!

We finished class free dancing to Marsha's famous karaoke song, "Tainted Love!"  Happiest birthdays Marsha and Gina!

Save the Dates in May!

There will be NO 9:30am Stop Drop and Dance classes on Saturday, May 11th or Saturday, May 18th!

However, there will be an opportunity to dance in the afternoon of Saturday, May 18th for the 6th Annual Marin Foster Care Dance-a-thon and Fundraiser at the Corte Madera Community Center (498 Tamalpais Drive, Corte Madera).

This family-friendly event will be from 4-6pm and our dance class will begin at approximately 4:15pm, followed by pizza and snacks if you are free to stay!

Backup dancers are needed on stage and in the audience to help fill up the dance floor!  Please reach out to Grace if you are free to dance at this event!

A quick note: please be mindful not to wear strong scents before any classes, thank you!

"You don't have to see to believe.
Believe now and you will see later."

- Roger Lee

As the month of May begins, I am reminded of the Loving Kindness Meditation.

It begins by closing your eyes and centering on yourself, reciting this poem or any variation of it as a prayer for you:

“May I be happy.
May I be safe.
May I be healthy.
May I be peaceful and at ease.”

Then the focus changes to others, perhaps someone you love, perhaps an acquaintance, or perhaps someone you don’t quite like, you recite the prayer to them:

“May you be happy.
May you be safe.
May you be healthy.
May you be peaceful and at ease.”

And finally it is repeated a last time for all the beings in the world, as you send your prayers to everyone and everything:

“May we be happy.
May we be safe.
May we be healthy.
May we be peaceful and at ease.”

Believe all this is possible for you, for others, and for the entire world, and you will see it come true later.

Love,
Grace
